Fairlight Hall

Fairlight Hall

The project to restore Fairlight Hall Gardens has seen numerous setbacks, shifts, improvements made and invasive species removed. It has been worth the effort. Today, the gardens uphold the highest horticultural standards while respecting the history of the space. Soil Association certified, the grounds and surrounding 90-acre estate grow many types of organic vegetables and fruit as well as plants.

Visit Fairlight Hall and be transported to bygone horticultural eras as you wander through the different borders, gardens and glasshouses.

The Tropical Border is an exotic walkway of hardy and half-hardy plants; the Long Border a riot of hot, vivid colours; the pastel flowers of the Ha-ha Border a mecca for butterflies and moths. The Russian Steps lead the way to the magnificent, produce-laden Walled Garden, through a colourful meadow of annuals bordered by mixed apple, pear and quince orchards. In the glasshouses you can get up close with fascinating exotics – orchids, cacti, hibiscus and more.
