Audley End House and Gardens

Audley End House and Gardens

Step back in time as you explore life above and below stairs in this decadent mansion house surrounded by peaceful grounds.

Admire the interiors of what was once one of the largest and most opulent houses in Jacobean England. Discover the history of Audley End as you roam the impressive great hall, magnificent state apartments and intimate dressing rooms.

Then discover life in a Victorian Country estate as you experience the sights, sounds and smells of the 1880s Servants Wing and enjoy a glimpse into the lives of the children of the estate in their restored nursery suite.

Enjoy stunning views across the unspoilt countryside and wander the tranquil gardens created by two of the most influential landscape designers of the 18th century, Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown and Robert Adam. Explore restored parterres, the serpentine lake, delightful planting and the organic walled kitchen garden. Don’t miss the stable yard where you can meet the estate’s horses.
